Rated 5 out of 5 by MB2019 from Upgrade I’ve been invited by Mothercare to review a Titan Pro car seat from Maxi Cosi. This is a brand i know well having bought three to date and as they mainly produce car seats it was one of the initial reasons i chose them along with the simple features which carry through the range. Currently we use a Pebble for my 1 yo daughter and a two-way pearl for my 3 1/5 yo son. All are sitting comfortably but i would say that my older child’s pearl is ready to be forward facing simply to provide more leg room as he is quite tall for his age. The new seat arrived and its style, fittings and features were instantly familiar to those who have used Maxi Cosi before. For those who haven’t the Instructions were diagrammatic and simple to follow and it was up and running in a couple of minutes. It uses a green colour system to confirm that the seat is fitted correctly. It’s a single unit meaning the isofix brackets are built into the seat and it has a rear strap which you anchor in the boot, making the unit quite heavy if you regularly take it in and out. My partner couldn’t do it comfortably but its not something which occurs often and i know having bought similar seats that the weight is comparable. Whilst my son attended nursery i used the seat for my daughter for a couple of days. Though she sat perfectly in it without the supporting insert, the size of the seat swamped her compared to her usual one and as she often falls asleep in the car the detachable Pebble allows me to carry her into the house. My main concern is that she was sat very upright even when the seat was at its most reclined setting and i suspect if she were to fall asleep her head would hang forward. The Titan Pro is a future proof car seat which can be used from 9 months and its limits are set based on the child’s weight. Under 18kgs you can use the 3 point harness and beyond this to 36kgs you use the car’s seat belt to retain the seat. I swapped it over to my son who instantly liked it along with the novelty of facing forward. Similar to his old Pearl the straps of the harness are pulled to tighten and on the Titan a grey button found at the base of the harness loosens them. The button was a little stiff initially but i’m sure it will free up over time. It has three recline positions adjusted via a simple pull on a grip under the seat and these are weight banded the same as the harness with a useful sticker on the seat as a reminder. He is using the mid-setting now which given his height/weight is judged well. One new feature he’s really taken a shine to is the new cup holder….. all very exciting to my son whose every trip is accompanied by a bottle of some description. After a week or so this is a novelty which shows no signs of waning- he may actually take a drink at some point. Overall after using this seat with each child I was happy with it and Maxi Cosi have retained the quality and simple mechanics. It’s handy to be able to buy one that will suit your child right upto using a seatbelt and the single unit design cleanly incorporates the isofix fittings. I would be happy to recommend this seat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AngelaOHara from Fantastic safety, easy to fit, looks great I love that the product will be suitable for our son for many years from 9 months to 12 years. This is great peace of mind that we won’t need to spend further money in the future. The product is sturdy, looks great and despite the suitability for multiple age groups, takes up little space in the car, if fact, than our earlier infant age car seat. All that aside, the excellent product safety rating is a massive plus, knowing that our son is in a car seat which affords him the maximum amount of protection. Personally, I dislike that the instruction booklet is mainly visual, as I like a small number of words to explain the steps in addition to pictures. However, installation, removal and transport of the seat is very straightforward and there are ample text instructions about safety, warranty, care etc at the rear of the booklet. That is easy to understand. The product is secured in the vehicle using the lower two isofix clips and the top tether, which in my vehicle is secured half way down the rear side of the seat. This is easy to secure and remove the seat and the unit is not particularly heavy, given the size. The product is stylish and it is easy to both place our son into, and get him out of the seat. He seems happy to be facing forwards and sitting up and he is easily visible in my rear view mirror, a further plus point. I rate this product highly in terms of safety, style and comfort for my child and I have no hesitation in recommending this to other parents. Sent from my iPhone

Rated 5 out of 5 by mtg151 from Really nice, sturdy and comfy seat My partner and I had not seen or heard of this car seat prior to being contacted by mothercare to test this. Since we received this, we have been pleasantly surprised with the product. Installing it required a good read of the instructions, but was simple enough once read through. A strap for that extra bit of security is tied to an anchor point in the boot making the seat really nice and secure. The seat seems very comfy with a good amount of padding - I can’t get a definitive answer on this because my 1 year old is unable to talk otherwise he’d be doing the review. Even as my boy gets older, the padding left over after the bulk is removed to accommodate him seems to be relatively comfortable and not too hard. The straps are easy to adjust with the padding in the right places so as not to allow the straps to cut in to the arms and legs. A good feature is that as the headrest is moved, the straps move with it so that they are always positioned correctly. We are impressed that the car seat is good for children up to the age of 12 however for a young baby, it misses some small features for me that would make this seat completely perfect. A recline option would be nice so that baby’s head isn’t hanging when he has dropped off to sleep, and like some other car seats, a swivel to face the door option would be fantastic to help get baby in and out of the car. That said, my son seems to be a lot happier in this seat facing forwards than he is in another rear facing seat we have. This seat has since been handed to my grandparents for their use when looking after my son and they too mirror my comments on its ease of installing and strapping him in securely. The seat feels strong and robust and I have every faith this will last until my son reaches 12 years old. I would definitely recommend this product for others to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Liz1 from Great car seat My 2.5 year old had the Maxi Cosi Access fix but hus younger brother outgrew his pebble, so we noved youngest into the Axiss fix and bought this for my 2.5 year old. Love the fact it goes up to age 12, feels very robust, secure and safe. He's very comfy and loves the cup holder. Excellent value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tina from Excellent car seat Took ages to pick next stage car seat and after not being overly impressed with other brands I am so glad I chose this. Robust, easy to fit, toddler so comfy in it, decent recline, and from a trustworthy brand. Would highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rjina from Great design and very robust This car seat is very robust and the look and design had been taken into consideration. I had not seen it in real life so was very happy when i saw it, we have the nomad black which looks very stylish and fits perfectly with what we were looking for and is not overly bulky. Having said that, it is on the heavier side, i struggle to lift it so my husband needs to do the fitting. We found it super easy to fit into to the car with the isofix base, was really straightforward and the instruction that came with it was very easy to follow. I would have like the seat to recline a little bit more so it would have been perfect for my 10 month old who is on the smaller side. However she seemed to have liked the car seat and looked cosy and was happy to be in forward facing seat. The seat looked and feels very safe. The seat harness pads were quite stiff, hoping these will soften with use. The seat can be used for upto the age of 12 years, we found it very easy to set the positioning and adjust the straps for my 10 month old, we have not tried any other positions but so far so good. I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ellie from Lovely car seat This carseat is good quality, robust and overall I’m very happy with it. I have the nomad black and it’s a lovely finish. Although the seat is slightly heavy it is extremely easy to install with the isofix points, so would be easy to transfer from car to car if needed. The car seat has a rear anchor point at the top back of the seat rather than a leg and I feel that this really secures it into place. The carseat is well padded however as it is forward facing only I would wait until my child is older than the minimum age stated before using. The straps are very easy to use. Also, when you move the head rest up or down, the straps move with it which I like as you always know that they will be positioned correctly. I particularly like how this seat has excellent safety testing and how there is side impact technology built in. This seat can be used until a child is 12 years old and due to the high quality of the seat I do believe that it will last that long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Charw from Nice and solid Decided to buy this for our main car seat and use our old Pearl as the grandparents spare. My little girl is 3. It is a nice solid car seat, easy to install, however coming from a maxi cosi pearl to this, i’d have to say I prefer the pearl. The Titan hasn’t got the greatest recline so I definitely wouldn’t use it from 9 months, the button to release the strap and also loosen the strap is VERY stiff, not great in a crash situation (I’m hoping it becomes less stiff the more we use it). There’s no where to hook the staps out the way which is slightly inconvenient. It is also very very heavy compared to the pearl and the base. The only thing going for it is that it is VERY robust and will last a long time. But if I were a parent buying for an upgrade to stage 0 car seat I would definitely look at the other maxi cosi’s on offer.
