Questions & Answers
Silly question but how is the seat secured in when the child switches to using the seat belt instead of harness at 18kg?
Thanks for your query. The car seat belt goes over the child and car seat to hold in place. Regards.

I have a 2018 5 door Ford Fiesta and after looking at your compatibility chart it shows an exclamation mark for fitting the seat in positions 2 and 4, what does this mean please? Is it compatible or not?
Hi, Thanki you for your query. Vehicles with a cabin roof height which could restrict the seat being installed forward facing are marked with ! and with this car seat, we would recommend visiting your nearest store for a test fit to confirm compatibility. I hope this information is of use.

At what age can the child still use the five point harness pls?
Hi, Thanks for your query. Do not use the booster with the harness if the child’s shoulders are above the highest slots in the backrest or if the child’s weight exceeds 18 kg. We hope this helps.

Is this an FAA approved car seat?
Thanks for your query. Unfortunately not and no Mothercare brand car seats are FAA approved. However the Britax Eclipse, Britax BabySafe and the Maxi-Cosi Pebble and Pebble Plus which are in in our range are FAA approved. However each airline has their own rules about the dimenstions/weights of car seats they will allow on to aircraft. Please check with your airline before purchasing a new car seat for airline travel. Britax have said: We can confirm that we have two models from our car seat range that are TUV certified for use in an aircraft. This includes our full Baby Safe range in Group 0+ and our Group 1 Eclipse car seat from 2004 onwards. The Baby Safe (TUV ID-Number 9811400300) is suitable for children weighing up to 13kg, and as long as their head still sits under the top of the seat shell. The label which indicates that this product is TUV certified for aircraft use already comes with the car seat when purchased. However if you do not have this sticker please contact your retailer for assistance. On the other hand the Eclipse (TUV ID- Number 0000028802) car seat is suitable for older children weighing between 9kg and 18kg. The TUV sticker will not automatically come with this product but can be purchased separately with the aircraft fitting kit. If you would like further information on the fitting kit or would like to purchase this item, please contact us on 01264 386034. Finally, please note that a child seat must not be purchased for aircraft use without consulting the airline first. The Airline will have their own regulations in regards to this matter and therefore we strongly recommend that you contact them to check the use of the above seats on their aircraft before you travel. Regards,
