mothercare madrid combination car seat is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 589.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great car seat, great price I brought this car seat a month ago and it has been a hit from the start. Not only was my little one in need of the next stage car seat, as soon as it came she knew it was for her and took pride of place and just sat in it when I unpacked it. She is very comfortable in her new car seat and I no longer have the moaning when trying to get her in the car seat. And with the extra comfort padding liner I know my baby is getting a comfortable ride. I just wish I had brought it sooner as I didn’t realise it also a rear facing car seat from birth. Would recommend this car seat if your on a budget or have A lot of cars that your baby rides in and need a seat for each .

Questions & Answers

Can my child stay in the rearward position up to the age of 4 or does it have to be forward facing from 9 months?

Asked by: Natalee
This is a Group 0/1 seat (unfortunately the webpage does not seem to specify this at all) which means that it can be rear-faced up until 10 kg. After this you either have to turn the seat to forward-facing or, preferably, replace it with a Group 1 or Group 1/2 rear-facing seat to keep your child rear-facing as long as possible (this is 5x safer than forward-facing).

I have one of these car seat. My son is 13 months but weighs 9kg so according to the specification needs to go forward facing but the law says you have to keep them rear facing until 15 months so does he need a different seat for 2 months? Thank you.

Asked by: Dale M
Hello Dale M. Thank you for your enquiry. We do advise once your child is 9kg to go forward facing. All children are different heights and weights at different stages. This is up to you if you wish to use the rear facing for another 2 months until your child is 15 months old, but we would advise now he is the weight to go forward facing this is what we advise. I hope this helps.

Is this seat ok for a Vauxhall Insignia?

Asked by: roger
Hello, Thank you for your query. For any car seat compatibility, we would advise to contact your local store and request to speak to the home and travel team, as they are car seat trained and will be able to confirm this for you. Sorry that I could not be of more assistance at this time.

How do i find the standard of testing this carseat has gone through?

Asked by: Mashiie
Of the two safety regulations, this seat is certified according to R44, otherwise it would be rear-facing up to 15 months, but this is a Group 0/1 seat (unfortunately the webpage does not seem to specify this at all) which means that it can be rear-faced up until only 10 kg. After this you either have to turn the seat to forward-facing or, preferably, replace it with a Group 1 or Group 1/2 rear-facing seat to keep your child rear-facing as long as possible (this is 5x safer than forward-facing).

What is the reason you cannot rear face after 9kg?

Asked by: JodieW
Hi, Thanks for your query. The Madrid car seat complies with R44.04 regulations meaning that after 9KG (approx. 9 months) the car seat can be then used in forward facing mode. We do offer alternative extended rearward facing options to 13KG, 18KG and 25KG. We hope this helps.
