Britax Dualfix Combination Car Seat is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable My little one seems very comfy, he has fallen asleep very quickly in this seat. It’s a lovely blue colour & the white base makes it easy to see the buttons in a dark car. We also have GB Vaya which was double the price but this one is just as good. Only 2 downsides compared to the GB: the shoulder pads are very chunky & not flexible making it more tricky to get the baby strapped in. Secondly there is no magnetic clips to hold the straps back once you take baby out (the GB has these & they are so handy) for the price it’s a really good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations I am delighted with my Britax Dualfix Combination Car Seat. It has lived up to the hype 100%. My 6 month old daughter is so much happier on journeys in the car now. She sits a little higher so sees more out the window and the seat itself is super comfy - more often than not she falls asleep. So very easy to install - I'm a single mum and I managed just fine following the installation video. I love the 360' turn which is so convenient and is saving my back lots of strain. I thoroughly recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Car Seat No2 We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year hold and after we have been so impressed with the car seat for our eldest we bought the same one for our youngest as its fantastic and the swivel is a god send.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my 3 year old from serious injury recently! I have always loved this car seat from the minute I first saw it when I was pregnant with my daughter. We did end up using an infant carrier for the first few months so we could take our daughter in/out of the car on school runs without waking her but soon went back to the dualfix when she was 5-6 months old. I have a very bad back and the side loading swivel seat has been amazing for me. I recommend it to all my friends just from the ease of putting a toddler into the seat and how comfortable she has been, and still is in this seat. My daughter has just turned 3 and the week before her birthday we were unlucky enough to be involved in a nasty car accident thanks to black ice. Although the car sustained massive damage, I am pleased to say that our daughter was barely injured. She sustained a small black eye and a sore back but considering the crash force buckling a big 4x4 vehicle so that the engine was hanging out and the front end destroyed, she was very lucky! Lucky because she was in this car seat! The doctors at the hospital believe that the car seat cradling her and the fact that she was still rear facing are the only reason that she walked away from the accident not even understanding that the car had been involved in a crash! To those worrying about whether or not extended rear facing is comfortable for the child let me tell you that our daughter is 93cm tall and has plenty of leg room in both the fully reclined position and the upright position. She is very happy to rear face as she doesn’t know any different even though her big brother is in a forward facing booster seat. She has never had any issues with leg room at all. If you are thinking about this seat then please don’t think any more because the money we paid was worth it in the reduced injuries our daughter sustained. I recommend the dualfix to anyone/everyone and so would our little girl. Fantastic car seat, comfortable for baby/child, easy to install, easy for parent to put child in/out of car, fantastic in a front/side collision.

Questions & Answers

Hi there, are there any parents that have used this car seat with a newborn? In the fully reclined position is the seat flat enough to stop baby's head from lolling forward, together with the newborn insert? Thanks!

Asked by: Lis
It seems to depend on the angle of your back seats. We have a bmw 1 series and in that it does not recline enough for a newborn. It would be suitable from approximately 6-9 months or 13kg. The newer ones may be smaller, but with s newborn an infant carrier is much more convenient. Everytime you take them out of the seat they wake up and in a carrier you just bring them in and out of the car with it.

Did anyone miss the fact that it doesn't fit into a travel system so you have to move baby if they are sleeping?

Asked by: First Timer
No, we bought this seat for our grandaughter. She was too big for the cosy system.

Hi how do people find the recline positions in rear facing and forward facing with this car seat. I've read so many reviews on other car seats and they all say it doesn't recline enough and that baby's head falls forward when they're asleep. Thanks in ad

Asked by: Samantha
Rear facing is fantastic better than my 0/9 car seat. I have a premature baby and its great for her wish I had got 2 now as the odd time I have put the new baby in it I was more than happy with it .

Does the mineral purple look as bright in real life as in the photo?

Asked by: Samantha
It’s a lovely colour. Probably more akin to aubergine than purple description wise. Definitely not a Cadbury purple if you see what I mean? It’s not bright but not dull either.

Has anyone managed to use this carseat rear facing up to 4 years? I really want to keep my lg rear facing for as long as possible but she is very tall. She is currently 9 months and want to make sure we will get a lot of use out of it as it is quite expe

Asked by: Fiona
I have a 3 year old and she is still exclusively rear facing without any trouble. We don’t even have her on the most upright position yet so no worries she’ll outgrow it anytime soon. In fact my son (being a little joker!) got into the car seat at 7 years old and said it was really comfy and he’s tall! Obvs we didn’t drive anywhere but he just bent his legs like he does on the sofa at home. Best seat I’ve ever bought. I’ll be gutted when my daughter outgrows it. She loves waving to me through the rear view mirror using a second headrest mirror designed for watching newborns.

Can this be fitted using just a seatbelt? We would like to be able to put lo in the front when the dog is on the back seat but struggling to find a group 1 extended rear that does both isofix and seat belts, apart from hauck Variguard (on Which don't buy

Asked by: Cath
No, this is definitely isofix fitting only and no way to fit it with a seat belt at all. Sorry.

I have a 3 door corsa, my son is 9 months am I able to swivel the seat to forward facing so that I could put him in the seat, strap him in and then turn him rear facing whilst he is in the seat or does it only go to the side to allow you to strap the chi

Asked by: Leanne
Yes you can swivel it right round. There are a number of recline positions depending on the age of the child which allow the seat to be moved right round.
