Lie flat pram / carry-cot

A carrycot or 2 in 1 seat is perfect for keeping precious newborns in a lie-flat position – essential for early spinal development. Your little one will be kept comfy and cosy in a lie-flat pram, so they can sleep peacefully, wherever you venture out to during those first special weeks. Choose a solid-base carrycot and you also have an easy occasional sleeping solution that’s just right for those perhaps not quite so peaceful overnight stays with grandma and granddad!

Stroller

Strollers are lightweight, and a quick and easy choice for a busy family with a growing baby. With the choice to lean back or be sat upright, strollers are the next step for your little one to begin facing and learning about the world ahead of them.

Parent facing/reversible seat unit pushchair

Give your baby the best of both worlds with a reversible seat unit pushchair. Tiny ones will love the bond-building smiles and eye contact in a parent facing position, and chatting as you go will help them with those very first sounds and words. Then, as they grow, you can switch the seat to face forwards and give your little explorer a front-row view of what’s happening around them.

There are multiple options to keep babies and tots of all ages comfy on the move, and with a convertible single to tandem you can simply remove a seat when your older child is ready to walk alongside you. Just give yourself extra time to stop at every stick, flower or colourful shop window on the way!

Choose one with lie-flat or carrycot options to use from birth and you’re guaranteed years of use as your sturdy superhero double grows with your not-so-terrible twosome. Side by side doubles are also a great option for siblings who want an unobstructed view of the world.

Separate carry-cot & pushchair seat

Space to spare? Consider a pushchair with a separate carrycot and give your baby the best of both. A carrycot will keep them snug in a lie-flat position – important for spinal development – and one with a solid base also offers a fantastic occasional place to sleep. So you’re sorted for those early overnight stays with grandma and granddad! Switch to the pushchair from approx six months and put your baby in the driving seat to discover what’s around them.

Lockable swivel wheels, easy to manoeuvre, narrow chassis

Living in the city means squeezing into tight spaces and keeping up with the fast urban pace, so choose a narrow chassis, easy to manoeuvre pushchair that won’t slow you down. Lockable swivel wheels will make easy work of corners, crowds and other obstacles you need to tackle in a busy city.

Easy fold, lightweight

A lightweight, foldable pushchair will make getting around with baby a breeze. These nippy little space savers are ideal if you’re short on storage or have a small car boot. They also make getting on and off public transport as hassle-free as possible, and will squeeze through the narrowest of doorways. A lightweight stroller also makes a great second pushchair to keep at grandmas, the childminders or anywhere else your baby regularly spends time.

Compact fold, small enough for plane locker

Full travel system or travel system compatability

For the full-package pushchair, choose a travel system that includes everything you need to get from A to B. Combining pram, pushchair and a car seat that clicks onto the chassis, they make getting around as easy as 1, 2, 3. We recommend using infant car seats for no more than 30 minutes at a time between birth to 4 weeks, and for no more than 2 hours from 4 weeks onwards, so they’re a good option for speedy shopping trips or the school run. Or opt for a travel system with a lie-flat car seat, to keep baby comfortable for longer.

Stroller platform

Save the legs of an older sibling with a ride-on stroller board. If big brother or sister likes to walk (most of the time!) a clip-on stroller board gives a great hop-on, hop-off option for longer journeys. Also fantastic for keeping your little explorer close in crowded places, without resorting to trying to push your stroller with one hand.

Perfect for winter walks and running grey-day errands, a footmuff will keep off the cold and the wind without you having to worry about losing loose blankets. Carrier

Keep baby close with a carrier – a portable, practical option for transporting your most precious cargo. Perfect for those times you want to be hands-free, a ergonomic carrier will keep your baby cosy and supported while running errands and using public transport. It’s also a fantastic hassle-free holiday solution for those who’d prefer to leave their pushchair at home. Simply strap baby in and go!

Car seat

Your little one will need a car seat from birth, and there are plenty of ones to choose from. i-Size lets your little one travel facing backwards for longer which is safer in the event of a collison. If your baby is likely to be in its car seat a lot, consider one with a new technology lie-flat option. Choosing one that can recline flat is great for ensuring that busy babies are kept in the best position for spinal development. With a travel system, going from car to pushchair couldn’t be easier - simply clip the car seat onto the chassis and you’re good to go.

Changing bag

All parents very quickly learn that leaving the house without spare baby clothes is risky business. A changing bag is the perfect place for keeping clean clothes, as well as storing wet items destined for the washing pile. Look out for bags with included wet/dry pouches to keep items stored away neatly. Insulated bottle pockets are also useful for keeping drinks warm or cool.
