read moreI'm a fan of this & I don't usually write reviews. The monitor itself picks up the main noises without bothering you when your child is making jungle noises (newborns can be v noisey !). The tunes are gentle & just the right length to send him off. It's GREAT having his musical in the one unit because you only take one item when you stay with friends.
My battery unit has lasted a week without being charged.

read moreI really wanted to give this monitor 5* as it is very sensitive and has a room temerature sensor. You can also alter the night light/lullabies/volume/sensitivity and talk to your baby via the parent unit. Where it lets itself down is the rechargable battery. It was fab to begin with and gave us about 4 hours without having to return it to the charging unit but after about 6 months of use we are lucky to get an hour and a half without it beeping 'low battery'. Fine if you are happy to keep moving the charging unit from each room you are in but if you are thinking of this for the portability (there is a cord to hang the parent unit from your neck) then I would probably look for something with a more reliable battery.

Its a bit pricy but well worth it seen as you will be using it for a year or so and if you are planning to have more children then you will have planty of use of it!...
