I bought the AVENT solid feeding starter set. I have just started to wean my 4-1/2 month old baby and after reading the reviews, bought this product. It does what it sets out to do and the blender is good and able to blend food into texture that is suitable for my baby, but there are a few areas I find disappointing. There are two blender, one for larger portions and one for smaller. For me, the smaller portion is a bit useless because I would make several portions and freeze them. It is just a waste of time to prepare and clean when preparing single taste food for first weaning. For the larger blender, the blades can't be taken out and traps food and therefore it is difficult to get all the blended food out and there are wastage. In addition, for the large blender as the blades don't come out, it is difficult to clean properly. I know many of my friends uses hand blender which I don't have at home so I am not sure if it would have been better just to use a hand blender. At any rate, I am a bit disappointed with this purchase as I feel that I will not get a lot of use out of it once the baby starts to need bigger feeds as even the large blender will not be able to make a lot of food.

I have a 4 1/2 month old baby girl that I am currently testing different tastes and textures with to see what she likes and dislikes before I start weaning properly. I have a hand blender already which was OK but not quite pureeing carrots and parsnips properly, so there were still substantial lumps in them. I am really pleasantly surprised by this starter set, the blender beaker is great if you're planning in advance and make larger portions of purees up and refrigerate or freeze them and the wet mill beaker is great for those last minute small veggy or fruit purees.

Prior to buying this, I was stressed out and everything i tried would not puree my baby food but as soon as this arrived I tried it with an optimistic mind & i could not beliv my eyes when I saw beautiful puree food for my baby to eat. This item is 5 stars all the way!
