This is a great idea in principle and I bought it as I knew my baby would soon grow out of his bouncy chair and wanted to help him to learn to sit up straight.
However, it took only a few short sits for him to work out how to escape. I just popped him in now for the first time in ages and I looked round a minute later to find him balanced with his head upside down on the floor, giggling and about to escape again! He is still not sitting on his own.
Don't believe claims on some websites that babies can't escape from these chairs!
I found this item fantastic and a godsend for my 3rd baby , she loved it ! She must of felt really secure as where they sit is really deep, soft and comforting.

When I started weening her I would also use it to feed her in it as she was more comfy in the bumbo than the highchair .
Fantastic item , could not of been without it .

Biggest waste of money ever.
Bought for child 2 who used it for abt 2 months maybe once or twice a day for 10-15 a time. Was going ok til one day I had him sitting in it in the middle of the carpeted floor in my bedroom whilst I was in the shower (did have toys with him). Heard a "bump" and he had managed to get himself out of it! He was only abt 6 months!
So got it out for child 2 three weeks ago when she was 14 weeks: doesnt like it at all regardless of what we do with her in it. Since the start of using it she has been straightening her back and has been almost out of it several times.
Maybe I just have two kids who have been energetic and physical from the start. Must be a lot of compliant kids out there who just sit in it. I dont want to scare my kids or make them worried: they didnt like much so didnt use it much at all.
As for feeding a kid in it, you would be mad to us eit on a tbale to bring them to your height to feed and why would you get down on the floor whislt they are sitting in it to fee dthem: just use a highchair taht tilts slightly and a head-hugger if need be!
Advice: borrow one and if its a hit maybe buy one. If not a hit then at least you havent wasted money on it.

read moreI borrowed one of these for my daughter when she was 4months old. She wouldn't sit in it for long before fussing and trying to get out. I thought it would be useful to feed her in it, which it was at the start of a meal but then she would want to come out which made dinner times 'interesting'. Glad I didn't buy one to be honest...
